I remember hearing someone say…to eat an elephant, you have to take small chunks. Well, not that I am interested in eating such an animal, I recently realized that as a recovering procrastinator, there had to be a better way of being productive.
Since I was in grade school, I would always wait until the last minute to get things done. I procrastinated to know end, especially when I had a lot of time to kill. Even when I got to college, my grades would suffer in the Spring Semester because I had too much time on my hands. In the fall, I marched in the band and during football season, we practiced like crazy (that’s why we were the best band in the land).
I didn’t realize it until I got coached around my habit of procrastinating that the reason I procrastinate is either one of two things: I really don’t want to do whatever it is I am procrastinating on OR it really doesn’t take as long as I have, to get it done. So instead of beating myself up for procrastinating, I “reframe” the situation by telling myself, “it’s okay to wait till the last minute because I don’t need that long.” Or if it’s a task that I don’t want to do, I again “reframe” and give myself 15 minute chunks to get it done.
If you’re a procrastinator, then I encourage you to consider reframing your situation. It helped me, and I am sure it will help you!
Be Encouraged, Be Blessed and REFRAME!

Good post and this enter helped me alot in my college assignement. Thanks you on your information.
Fon, you have summed up what has always been one of my own weaknesses. In addition to your elephant quote, I would add that “work expands to fill the time available to do it”!
