Confusion to Clarity…Eventually

by Fon James on May 24, 2010

Have you ever been confused about something? Today I was confused in Step Class at the gym. That hop, jump, stradle, then exit combo really confuses me. I watch the instructor intently and still end up confusing the steps and not doing it exactly right. Usually I am relieved when we get past that combo, but the “recovering” perfectionist in me wants so badly to get it right.

As I thought about my desire to get it right in the shower after step class, I realized one very important thing. As I am trying to learn that step combo, one thing the instructor instructs, and that’s to keep moving. My message is short today. Even if you don’t know “how” to do something or you are trying to perfect it, always keep moving. Don’t let whatever your challenge is, keep you from moving, and certainly don’t stop with the assumption that you will begin again when you can get it right or figure it out.

I will learn that combo if I keep doing it, but stopping and looking won’t help me as much as if I look and keep moving. I am confident that I will get that step combo move, but in the mean time, I am just going to keep moving…therefore still reaping the rewards of a great, yet challenging workout.

What have you stopped moving on?

Be Encouraged, Be Blessed, and KEEP MOVING!
